From Mommy Dearest to Hoarders and Something Inbetween

So here is the beginning of my long overdue journey back to what should have always been.  As an only child of a single parent that was and still is an over the top neat nick, I grew up in a very neat house with everything in its place and a place for everything. Having not been born with THAT particular gene my own place was not quite as pristine as Mother's but was manageable should company arrive.  I unfortunately married the complete opposite of my mother and throughout many years have slipped over to his side of the SLOB meter and with three teens as well the mess in the house has spiraled out of control.  So this year I have decided to fight my way back to happy livable space.  I figure the best way to keep on track of my goal is to share my plight with others that are floating around in my same boat and maybe to pass along a glimmer of hope to others. The task at hand seems so daunting that baby steps is the only way for me to imagine that I will ever be able to accomplish anything.  So today we will start with just the dishes and the laundry, this of course means I must unload the dishwasher and then reload it with hopefully ALL of the dishes piled up in the over sized sink.  I know this may not seem like much for a normal person but for a family of five we go through a lot of dishes. With all that said I am happy to conclude my first ever blog and run off to do the dishes...hahaha....I hope to add in some DIY projects as I go since that is my current passion and I love to reuse or re purpose what ever I possibly can.  I hope you will join me for my journey and pass along any suggestions you might have....Lord knows I'm gonna need it.....smiles to all :)
